West Coast rapper Lil B recently talked about his music-making and dished on the impact meeting rap star Lil Wayne had on him.
According to the Based God, Weezy F. Baby influenced him after getting the chance to clock in studio time alongside the Young Money boss.
“Meeting Lil Wayne, and being in the studio with him, and working on music, and being in his presence. It’s an inspiring time for me when people like him are acknowledging and understanding what Lil B is doing. I think that was a groundbreaking time for me, and I’m really happy about that.” (ILY)
Lil B also discussed putting out a collaborative project with Chicago’s Chance The Rapper last year.
“I think Chance is a really smart guy and talented musician. It was just really fun—he has a lot to say, and he definitely grew a lifelong fan out of me from meeting him and doing that project, and hearing his perspective and viewpoints.” (ILY)
Back in July, Chance talked about wanting to release new tunes with the Based God.
“It’s true, I’ll say it on your show first,” Chance told Kev when asked if the album rumor was true. “It’s true. It’s all done and it’s a masterpiece. I’ll tell you it’s a full-fledged album. I can’t tell you how many tracks are on it. I can’t tell you how many bars we go back and forth. I can’t tell you about the monologue. I can’t tell you about the features.
