Although the chart-topping success initially shocked him, Lecrae admitted he felt confident in his song’s mass appeal.

“Never! I did not,” Lecrae told SOHH writer Nikita Rathod when asked if he predicted the song’s huge iTunes success. “But you know what, my support never ceases to amaze me, so I’m really grateful for their support. I appreciate it that Nicki put [a screenshot] up on her Instagram page when hers kind of went back up to number 1, but my picture was right underneath it! So all seven million Nicki followers, how y’all doing?! It’s a beautiful thing. It was dope to see a lot of people who are her fans knew about my music as well.” (SOHH)

Last week, Lecrae’s new anthem lived up to the hype on the iTunes music chart.

Lecrae recently thanked fans on Twitter after his new song “All I Need is You” reached number 1 on the iTunes chart early Tuesday. The Grammy award-winning artist is gearing up for the September release of his seventh studio album “Anomaly.” “All I Need is You,” which is the third single off the album, recently peaked at number one on iTunes, surpassing Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” and Jessie J’s “Bang Bang.” (Christian Post)

Following the accomplishment, the rap veteran jumped onto social media to thank his supporters.

“Y’all’s support is crazy!! Number 1 song on ITunes tho?! God bless y’all!,” Lecrae tweeted August 5. (Lecrae’s Twitter)

The Texas native recently discussed piecing together his upcoming Anomaly album.

“I think everyone has a “normal” box they’d like to place me in. I just don’t fit. When you think of gospel music, you think of Kirk Franklin or Donnie McClurkin. When you think of Hip-Hop, you might think 2 Chainz or Jay Z. And yet here I stand in this weird place. I’m the anomaly because I can walk in both of these worlds without any issues. That’s really what the album is about; not fitting in, but embracing that that’s my identity. The identity of one who doesn’t belong in any world.” (Urban Daily)
