NBA superstar LeBron James has come forward to speak out on his California home getting targeted in a hate crime. The Cleveland Cavaliers leader delivered a heartfelt speech during his pre-NBA Finals press conference.

When asked for a reaction to the vandalism, King James admitted slain black teenager Emmett Till‘s mom came to his mind when informed of the crime.

“As I sit here on the eve of one of the greatest sporting events that we have in sports race and what’s going on comes again and on my behalf and my family’s behalf, but I look at it as if this is to shed the light and continue to keep the conversation going on my behalf then I’m OK with it. My family is safe and at the end of the day that’s what’s most important but it just goes to show that racism will always be a part of the world, part of America and hate in America especially for African Americans, it’s living everyday. Even though it’s concealed most of the time, we know people hide their faces and say things about you but when you see you, they smile in your face. It’s alive every single day. I think back to Emmett Till’s mom actually, it’s kind of one of the first things I thought of and the reason she had an open casket was to show the world what her son went through as far as a hate crime and being black in America. No matter how much money you have, no matter how famous you are, no matter how many people admire you, being black in America is tough.”

Early Wednesday, details surfaced about an unnamed criminal vandalizing his Los Angeles mansion.

Here’s what we know … multiple LAPD units and a neighborhood patrol vehicle responded to the home early Wednesday morning. We’re told the word was scrawled on the outer gate. We’re told investigators are looking for security footage from neighbors which may show the perpetrator. Records show LeBron bought the house back in 2015 but it does not appear he lives there on any regular basis. (TMZ)

This week, New York hip-hop artists DJ Kay Slay and Pete Rock trolled the Cavs’ NBA Finals opponent Golden State Warriors.

This past holiday weekend, rap veteran Fabolous showed the Cleveland Cavaliers some love.
