Top Dawg Entertainment rapper Kendrick Lamar‘s long-lost Lady Gaga collaboration, “Partynauseous,” has surprisingly emerged online this week.

The previously unreleased tune surfaced Thursday (May 21) after originally being planned for K. Dot’s 2012 breakout album good kid, m.A.A.d city.

‘Partynauseous’, originally slated for the Compton rapper’s 2012 album ‘good Kid, mAAd city’, was initially scrapped by Gaga due to disagreements with Lamar’s team. In 2014, an edited dance version of the track featured in some of her live shows. A leak of the full track, which features Lamar’s verses, originally appeared on fan forum yeezytalk.com, The Telegraph reports. (NME)

Gaga previously explained the motivation behind not releasing the tune.

“”When I collaborate with an artist [I] work solely with them, not with their camps or management. Its purely organic and creative. I love Kendrick dearly as a friend, but was not willing to compromise musically to the changes his team was making to my music.” (Little Monsters)

She also promised the mysterious collaboration would eventually surface.

“That song will be released at a different time, for a different project. I love you, and think you should check out his stuff because he is truly great. He’s a good kid, its just sometimes a mad city.” (Little Monsters)

K. Dot also boasted about working with Gaga in a past interview.

“It’s just great to be around people that inspire you from another genre, you know. In fact, it’s even bigger for her to respect hip-hop music the way she does, true hip-hop music, so much respect to her.” (MTV)

  1. Seems to me like this is one of those things where they didn’t really have faith in the outcome of the song but upon seeing the new Taylor Swift song, they decided to put it out. I’m not sure how I feel about it yet. Will give it another listen.
