[With his new Statik KXNG joint album now available, Slaughterhouse’s KXNG Crooked talks to SOHH about his group mates releasing their own collaborative efforts including Royce Da 5’9/DJ Premier and Joell Ortiz/!llmind.]
It was a total coincidence [with me and Statik Selektah]. It’s like if I show up to a show with a Dodgers hat and somebody else does too, it wasn’t planned.
It wasn’t planned but I hear that a lot. A lot of people are waiting on Joe [Budden] to see if he’s going to team up with somebody and drop something and then we’ll all go on tour together.
That would be dope. It wasn’t the plan but it’s funny how certain sh*t works out.
I think we just want to create. Me personally, I just always want to stay working and creating. By the time I die, I want all the talent used up in me.
I don’t want to lay in that coffin with no more ideas, no more song ideas, nothing. I want all of my talent used up when I go. I just stay on the gas pedal.
I have to keep moving. This just looked like another dope move for me to make. I love to rap, so it ain’t about that. Feed me beats and we’re good. That’s what it was for me but it is a coincidence that we all did collaborative albums.
