[SOHH highlights a hot record every week and offers a behind-the-scenes look at the smash in Singled Out. After California hip-hop artist DeLon broke down the science behind his “For Real” music video, Slaughterhouse’s KXNG Crooked dissects his “Magic & Bird” Statik Selektah banger.]
I think the “Magic & Bird” song stands out the most to people. Statik is originally from Boston even though he’s Brooklyn by the way of Boston.
I’m from California so you know, that was one of the biggest rivalries in the NBA and maybe of all time.

They’re both, as far as Magic Johnson and Larry Bird, respected thoroughly for what they do. I was just making a comparison to me and Statik.
We’re coming together, Statik has the beats and I have the rhymes and we’re just a dynamic duo.

I think that song will stand out, outside of the title because when you hear it, Statik went stupid on the beat, as usual. It’s a standout joint.
I like every song and maybe we’ll do something and make it a deluxe edition. It’s about what the people want, if they want more Statik KXNG, then that’s what’s up. Sometimes you gotta put it out there and see what comes up.
