Reason 1: Time To Shine

If you’re truly a Derty Head which is what we call D12 fans then you’ll love this project. The fans have been asking for more music from me and D12 for awhile now, I have had so many people asking me for a solo project since I made the Midwest Marauder mix-tape series, so I made this mix-album with them in mind.

Reason 2: Hi, My Name Is Kuniva

Reason 2: Hi, My Name Is Kuniva

It’s a chance for people to hear my music outside of D12. And also it’s an opportunity for me to showcase my creativity. Everyone in D12 were solo artists before we became an official group, I think this project will give the fans more of insight to me as a solo artist.

Reason 3: Time & Effort

Reason 3: Time & Effort

If you love hip hop and lyricism then I think you’ll enjoy what I’ve done with this project. I put lots of time into working on my music, I learned that from Marshall. He’s a perfectionist who will spend two days making sure that one bar in a song is on point. While I was making this album I found myself thinking “Marshall would make me do this line over again”.

Reason 4: Freedom

Reason 4: Freedom

I had plenty of freedom on this project. You have to always conform in some way when you’re dealing with a group or major label. By releasing this project independently I have had the chance to use some ideas that with D12 or Shady/Interscope may or may not have made it into the project.

Reason 5: The Proof

Reason 5: The Proof

After Proof passed away I was in a place where I hit writers block and music just wasn’t fun anymore. But you know as time went by fans would hit me up on twitter or while out touring they would come up to me and there were just a lot of stories about how D12 saved their life or how much they loved the group some were even showing their D12 tattoos. The biggest thing is they were all genuine and real. When you have a fan base that shows you that type of love its inspiring. Those fans helped rekindle my fire for the music and it reminded me of my conversations with Big Proof, he always believed in me as an artist. What I am doing right now is exactly what Proof would have wanted from me. By that I mean release solo music, respect the fan base and honor the brand (D12).
