The concept of “Derty Headz,” I remember the moment I heard the beat I knew it had a D12 type of vibe. I don’t like to lean too much on my group but when I heard that, on that particular track, it jumped out to me.

I just wanted to give a little background on my group and what we’ve been through. I didn’t go all the way into it because then it would have been a 20-minute song.

I had to break it down real quick and give people a brief lesson of what we were going through and just let everyone know it is a brotherhood we have. It’s a bond and different things fell into place for all of this to happen.

It was just a lot of ups and downs coming up in the era that we came under. Especially when you have Marshall and get into the different conversations. I just wanted to scrap the surface on some of that and the pros of dealing with those situations.

With losing Proof, on top of everything, it was a really hard blow. I just wanted to focus on us going through those things and to just show people everything wasn’t all good and peaches and cream. We had been through real war. We provided a lot of those wars. And we’re still standing, no matter what.

Even though we lost big Proof, he’s smiling from up above and he’s like, “You gotta keep it moving.” So, I’m letting people know we’re here to stay no matter what.

We never fell off. We had two multi-platinum selling albums and we’re still here and no matter what, we’re never going to quit this game. No matter how many ups and downs we’ve had, we’re still better people.

I just wanted to let people know D12 is a family movement, we’re here to stay and we’re going to keep on pushing.
