Kodak Black took to Instagram to preview a new track and let his fans know he is hard at work and that a new song is on the way. He said, “Grinding all season…Feb 8 New Single Premiere.”
Kodak went live in what looks like a dark studio. He can be heard singing the lyrics to the song with a trap beat with the catchy chorus “I aint gone let it lock. Im gon stretch it till it lock thicker.”
This new music announcement comes after his wildly successful hit Super Gremlin took the hip hop world by storm and dominated the charts and social media, earning him a huge co-sign from Drake.
Recently Drake gave Kodak his flowers as an artist, saying he is inspiring the upcoming generation in the game.
“You really all that for this generation,” Drake praised Kodak in the comments section. And in a passing-the-torch moment, Drake followed with a prediction of future success for Kodak saying, “And the next [generation] if we being honest.”
And Kodak is clearly feeling himself, recently volunteering to see Jay-Z in a Verzuz battle. Many hip-hop artists have spoken out about going up against Jay-Z in a Verzuz, but Kodak Black is upping the ante as the only one willing to put it all on the line.
The rapper took to Twitter to put in his bid to battle Hov, wagering his publishing catalog to sweeten the pot: “I’ll do a [Verzuz] with Jay-Z, ‘IF’ he [wins] he [gets] 15% of my [catalogue]. [If] I win, he [makes] me Vice President of Roc Nation.”
