Social media was set ablaze when R&B sensation Monica was spotted with Kodak Black after her birthday (Oct. 24). Not too long after mentioning that she was on a date on her Instagram story and sharing a photo of her and Kodak, rumors began circulating that the two were an item.

The speculation led the “Code Red” singer to finally put a rest to the rumors and made it clear that she is not dating the “Tunnel Vision” rapper. In a new Instagram story posted by @LoeShimmy, he shared Monica was like a mother to him and Kodak,

“This our second mama right here she so genuine so loving towards us,” he wrote.

Monica responded by posting the story, writing, “Love y’all too… and the women that love you and are really in your lives! I pray they weren’t hurt by this foolishness!”

Could Kodak Black & Monica Be More Than Friends?

Before the clarification, it appeared the duo could be a little more than friends. Fans were speculating after Kodak dropped a hefty bag on the singer for her 42nd birthday.

Kodak and Monica were also seen hanging out with one another and posting videos all over the internet. At first glance, it looked like the two had an innocent friendship, but fans believed there could be more to the story.

The R&B songstress posted a sneak peek of her getting out a Maybach with the caption, “on a date, kinda nervous.”

Soon after, she was all smiles standing next to Yak, thanking him for her new blue Birkin bag.
