Florida rapper Kodak Black is really a new person. The hip-hop star has confirmed recent buzz about changing his government name.
KB went to his Twitter page this week to reveal he did indeed get a new legal name.

A few days ago, reports went viral about Black getting approval to change his real name.
TMZ has learned the currently jailed rapper requested, and was granted, the name change by a Florida judge. Bill’s attorney, Bradford Cohen tells us his client wanted a “fresh start” in the middle of everything going on with him now. Fun fact: His real name was Dieuson Octave. We’re told he’ll still go by Kodak, professionally, when he gets out of jail … possibly as early as October. As we’ve reported, he’s doing time in a Florida jail for 2 probation violations. (TMZ)
Recently, Black spoke up on landing a six-month jail sentence for a probation violation.

The same week, a report emerged about KB having to serve months in jail for his probation violation.
Octave, who has been in jail since Jan. 18, entered an open plea in court today to previous charges of violating probation while driving with a suspended license and associating with people engaged in criminal activity. He was sentenced to 364 days in jail, with credit for time-served. Octave will now be released from jail in six months. (Local 10 News)
