Florida rapper Kodak Black has a theory for why the Atlanta rap scene is litty these days. The hip-hop artist hit up social media this week with an opinion on his state’s lack of growth in the rap scene.

Black went to Instagram Friday (September 1) to suggest Florida rappers aren’t as supportive as Atlanta hip-hop artists.

Earlier this summer, Miami rap veteran Trick Daddy co-signed Black’s movement.

“Kodak is like a little brother to both of us. We haven’t been able to spend time with him to explain to him that he may have the entourage, but all the people around him ain’t necessary love him. They just love what he’s doing, and that’s totally different from us. When we first started Slip-N-Slide [Records], we were all a family. We hung together, our kids played together. We had nicknames for one another. We gotta instill that in his head because I want the young brother to grow and carry this thing, because my back hurt.” (Billboard)

A few months ago, reports surfaced about hip-hop pioneer Master P mentoring KB.

Master P tells us the two linked after Kodak’s interview on “The Breakfast Club” in January where he mentioned he’d want P to mentor him. Word got to Master P and he’s been teaching Kodak the ropes of the music biz and now feels like a father figure to the young rapper. Their next project is a back-to-school fundraiser on August 14 in Pompano Beach, Florida, Kodak’s hometown, where they plan on giving away school supplies to over 1300 kids. (TMZ)
