Late MMA fighter Kimbo Slice‘s health problems reportedly resulted in his shocking and untimely death this week.
According to reports, Slice needed a heart transplant to help keep him alive.
Slice, as Coral Springs-based fighter Kevin Ferguson was widely known, was admitted to Northwest Medical Center in Margate on Friday, complaining of severe abdominal pain, shortness of breath and nausea, according to information the hospital reported to the Broward County medical examiner. Slice was found to have a liver mass and congestive heart failure, and was placed on a ventilator in intensive care, according to the report. (Sun Sentinel)
Yesterday (June 7), West Coast rapper Game spoke out on the passing.
Early Tuesday (June 7), fellow hip-hop artist DJ Khaled remembered Slice’s life.
Monday (June 6), sports organization Bellator MMA addressed his death.
“We are all shocked and saddened by the devastating and untimely loss of Kimbo Slice, a beloved member of the Bellator family,” Bellator president Scott Coker said in a statement, calling Slice “a charismatic, larger-than-life personality that transcended the sport.” (ESPN)
