Trolls, Just Stop

An old tweet from Kim Kardashian has resurfaced and has social media calling her a racist.  But the misunderstood tweet actually points to Kanye West’s former wife teasing her first pregnancy with daughter, North West.

Back in 2012, Kim re-enacted for her fans on social media a chat with her Mom, Kris Jenner, that is now being scrutinized by social media as racist.  In the tweet, Kim K shares a seemingly innocent dialogue about coffee preferences.

Mom- want any coffee?
Me- yes please
Mom- how do u take it?
Me- half coffee half milk. Just make it the color of what my kid would be

The “Just make it the color of what my kid would be” reply has set off social media into a frenzy, some calling Kim a closet racist who fetishizes blackness.  The Kim Kardashian “blacklash” comes at the same time former hubby Kanye West has been making the rounds spilling tea on their estranged relationship and making rap threats toward Kim’s new BF, Pete Davidson.

However, with further scrutiny, it appears the tweet was actually just Kim teasing social media fans about her first pregnancy with North West.

The original conversation appeared on Twitter on September 26, 2012 – exactly nine months before KimYe announced the birth of their first child, North West, who was born June 15, 2013.

According to the Pregnancy Conception Calculator, Kim K’s most probable conception dates were between September 20th, 2012 – September 24th, 2012, and her most probable dates of sexual intercourse with Kanye West that led to the pregnancy were September 17th, 2012 – September 24th, 2012.  Kim K’s pregnancy could have been detected as early as 10 days if she used an OTC test or even sooner if she is especially sensitive to her bodily changes.

These dates are smack dab in line with the September 26th “coffee” tweet Kim shared.  It suggests that Kim was subtly teasing her joyful first pregnancy with baby North West to her fans on social media.  The official pregnancy announcement came 3 months later from Kanye who spilled the beans during a concert, announcing, “Everybody give it up for my baby mama!”

Celebrities are known for subliminal drops of info on social media, making their fans go wild guessing and building up hype before the official announcement.

Beyonce stepped out onto the VMA stage flaunting her baby bump saying “I want you to feel the love that’s growing inside me” –  the BeyHive went nuts.  And Rihanna just low-key announced her pregnancy with ASAP Rocky with a picture of her swollen belly, sending fans and the media into a frenzy guessing the due date and even suggesting that twins may be on the way.

So it was a pregnancy tease – not a racist fetishism of blackness – that was intended by Kim Kardashian in the tweet with her mom, albeit a bit tone-deaf.  Social media trolls can just relax.

Meanwhile, Kim K is living her best life – sharing shots on social media enjoying a slumber party with her fam, and serving up looks as the new face of Balenciaga.
