Chicago rapper Kid Sister recently talked about the return of Kanye West and why critics should move past slamming him for last year's notorious MTV Video Music Awards incident with Taylor Swift.
From Sister’s perspective, Yeezy’s stunt was more humorous than serious.
“I didn’t really care about it, I thought it was kind of funny actually,” Sister said when asked about her reaction to Ye’s actions. “Come on, everyone makes silly decisions. It was a silly decision and that was the extent of it. I think the music speaks louder than anything, so as long as you make really good, visionary, forward-thinking music then it doesn’t matter what you do. I mean, he’s not Chris Brown! I think he’s all right.” (Spinner)
Recently, Chicago rapper Rhymefest also addressed critics attacking West’s character.
“The crazy thing is people hate you, then when you put another album out they like you again,” he said in an interview last month. “I think that we as a people are so force-fed by corporations that we don’t know what we want. Yeah, people were mad at Kanye last year, but they’re also looking forward to him putting another album out. Soon as the album drops they are going to forget why they were mad in the first place. I think people love Kanye because he speaks his mind and there ain’t that many Black men that do that and why we are on it, n*ggas need to stop fronting like that White girl deserved that award. They knew what he was saying and need to cut it out, for real.” (XXL Mag)
Ye recently inked a blog posting speaking on the public’s critical outlook on him.

At last year’s MTV VMAs, Ye stole the spotlight from country singer Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech.
Moments after Taylor Swift’s win for Best Female Video (‘You Belong With Me’) was announced tonight at MTV’s Video Music Awards, a furious Mr. West ran onstage, grabbed a mic, and interrupted her acceptance speech to announce his belief that Beyonce‘s ‘Single Ladies’ deserved that award instead.
