According to Cudder, the upcoming release will be his best work to date.

“It was supposed to be this mini little thing for the fans and it ended up forming a life of its own,” he told MTV News’ Josh Horowitz. “I’m really excited because it’s my best work and it’s a surprise. People weren’t really expecting it. I was just on fire creatively.” He added that the album will be the perfect bridge between his last full-length project and the third chapter in his Man on the Moon series. “I just know that people are really gonna love this music [because] it’s perfect and brings them right back to the Man on the Moon theme,” Cudi said. He also provided an update on what’s going on with him and G.O.O.D. Music.

The new project will be released in February, first to digital retailers. Cudi said that the physical copy might contain “deleted scenes” or “flashbacks,” meaning tracks that he recorded previously but never released. He hasn’t decided on an official drop date just yet. And, don’t expect to find any features from his G.O.O.D. Music family on the album. Cudi announced his split from Kanye’s label last year to form his own imprint, called Wicked Awesome. “I’m completely separate from G.O.O.D. Music professionally,” he said. “It’s pretty much, wicked Awesome. That’s what we’re about.” (MTV)

Last month, Cudder jumped onto his Twitter page to reveal his underground release would now be an album.

“Satellite Flight is an album now 🙂 thats what u get for being so patient w me. Ur gonna love it. Ur gonna love it. Ur gonna f*cking LOVE!,” Kid Cudi tweeted January 27. (Kid Cudi’s Twitter)

Earlier in the month, Cudder promised his upcoming Satellite Flight: The Journey To Mother Moon EP would drop in February.

“Ok my lovelies heres the deal. Sorry Ive been missin in action, but I had to make some last minute changes, edits and tweaks to the EP,” Cudi tweeted January 18.

“Everything sounds glorious! Get ready to take another trippy trip thru the cosmos. Another epic Cudder experience, for you! :)”

“We all take flight in February. Get to packin Cud Fam!”

“Upon the release of the EP, play all my albums back to back starting from MOTM1 (WZRD included) to prepare u for the next chapter, MOTM3”

“Satellite Flight: The Journey To Mother Moon is the bridge between INDICUD and MOTM3. An experience 6 years in the making.”

“Does anyone know how WZRD ties into the MOTM series conceptually?”

“”Take it to the satellite” means think beyond what you know, look beyond what you can see, feel beyond what you can touch. The vibes” (Kid Cudi’s Twitter)
