According to Cudder, Mr. West actually used some archived vocals on their “Guilt Trip” collabo.

“The vocal that I did on that song was a couple years old. I forgot which session it was, but it was just a reference. I discovered that I was on the song via Twitter. I saw kids hitting me up, like, “Are you on ‘Guilt Trip!?’ or saying “Great job!” and I’m like, “What the fuck is everyone talking about?” So I go on Twitter and then I hear the song and I’m like, “OK. I know the beat. I know the song.” Then I’m like, “Oh man, OK.” Part of me was flattered, like, it’s kind of cool that he thought of me.” (Complex)

Despite the honor, Cudi admitted he took some personal offense to Ye’s decision.

“Then I started thinking about it more. It was like, Why not call me and have me come in there and give it? Why underuse me? Why put four bars of vocals to coax my fans into thinking this is a legitimate Kid Cudi feature on this song and it isn’t? Same deal with the G.O.O.D. Music album, the compilation. Had I not given Kanye “Creepers” my only presence would’ve been on that one song, that I can’t even remember the title for. [“The Morning” –Ed.] I would’ve barely been on that album. … It’s weird. I don’t know how to feel but I would’ve much rather been off that song. I don’t care to be on people’s songs like that. Unless it came from a legitimate session where we’re all vibing and have an idea.” (Complex)

Last year, the Ohio native talked about his break-up with G.O.O.D Music and revealed his stance with Yeezy.

“I overthink sh– all the time. I’m just emotional,” he added, laughing. Cudi broke the news to fans early in April, saying that he’d even reached out to Jay-Z for advice on how to broach the subject with Kanye, but once it was done with, there were no hard feelings and he and ‘Ye still have plans to work together. “In the last email he sent me, he was just like, ‘Yo, come out to Paris and work,’ but I gotta go shoot ‘Need for Speed’ first,” he continued. “I’ma handle that and hopefully he’s still working because I got some time in between so I might jet out and go check him, play him some beats that I been working on. Now that I know he might need my help I might go in the studio and actually try to make some beats with him in mind and see what comes outta that.” (MTV)

The rapper’s new Satellite Flight: The Journey To Mother Moon is already making waves on the iTunes charts this week.

Kid Cudi has shot up iTunes charts across the globe after shocking fans with the unannounced release of his fourth studio album. The singer tweeted a link to purchase his new collection Satellite Flight: The Journey To Mother Moon online earlier this week. The album has since climbed to number one on the main iTunes album sales chart in the US and is currently at number ten in the UK. Satellite Flight: The Journey To Mother Moon has also reach the Top 10 on iTunes stores in Australia, Canada and France among others.
