Writing via his blog, Cudder also talked about his new “Dance Yrself Clean”-inspired record which features Chip Tha Ripper.

“thanx for all the love on the new joint yall. i really appreciate it sincerely. this was a idea i had that me and Chip decided to do for fun. as of right now its not on anything, we just recorded it and put it out just for the f*ck of it. itll be awhile til MOTM2 (still gunnin’ for Aug release or Sept), so i might keep releasing some fun joints here and there. ill keep you all posted faaashow.” (Kid Cudi Blog)

Cudi’s new record landed online late this week and also features a sample of actor Christian Bale.

When evaluating LCD Soundsystem‘s newest, we said This Is Happening opener “Dance Yrself Clean” gets things going perfectly. It’s a great establishing shot, Murphy suggesting you laugh things off and cut a rug instead, even when the push/pull remains. Seeing that instrumental opening section as a blank slate, Kid Cudi takes the song — or at least a 3:36 chunk of it — in a different direction and calls it “All Talk.” He starts things off with a sample of Christian Bale’s Terminator: Salvation-set rant and ends with Murphy’s “except you are an actual jerk and living proof…” Between that, we get verses from Cudi and — as KC notes over at his site — Chip Tha Ripper. Producer Jim Jonsin recently talked about producing a Cudi and Kanye West record.

“We did one song together which is kind of rock-influenced,” Jonsin said in an interview. “It was something I wanted to do with [Cudi] and just see where he would go. I played him a couple of tracks and decided to play him this batch here and he really liked this one with this rock influence. We tamed it down just a little bit, light weight, he was all open to do it and he killed it, wrote the top line and I helped him with some melodies, he killed one record…We did another record where I sampled a Duran Duran record. Kanye and Kid Cudi supposedly did that in the studio together and killed it but I haven’t got it yet. From what I heard, it’s a mix man. It’s kind of some club stuff, some hip-hop traditional rap stuff, and then some rock-pop stuff. He’s gong everywhere, it’s similar to what B.o.B. is doing. These new artists are really trying to reach out to new people and fans.” (Rap-Up TV)

Last month, Cudder announced changing the title of his album from Cudder & The Revolution of Evolution.

“WHY? i started making this project like a collab album, filled with fun and upbeat records that for the most part left you with jack sh*t when you were finished listening. i took a step back, went on tour, and realized im where im at because of the type of songs i write. every time i read a comment from someone saying ive touched their lives in some way is what made me want to stop f*cking around and continue pouring my life into my music. MOTM2 is dark by nature and instead of bringing you into my dreams like my first album, im bringing you into my reality. good and bad. it will explain more of who iam aswell as pushing the envelope musically. this project will focus on many dark, fun, and ignorant moments in my life since ive been kid cudi in a exciting and cinematic nature continuing the MOTM theme. this is my darkest work so far with a hint of fun and grooviness for those who like the classic chill cudi sound but elevated to another level. the things i cant speak will be the things i write. before anything else, you’d come to the conclusion i need a shrink, a stronger drug or a mentor. not a hug. a lot of you have read the news and think they know cudi, got some slick sh*t to say amongst your peers or just flat out hate me but you havnt the slightest clue of who iam. i will tell the story of Mr. Rager….” (Kid Cudi’s Blog)
