Cleveland artist Kid Cudi took to Twitter to confirm he and Kanye West are still not friends. He was quick to let fans know that a recently announced collaboration is not a rekindling moment.
Kid Cudi recently addressed his strained relationship with Kanye West. He to set the record straight after fans went into a frenzy about a reconciliation when Pusha T released the tracklist of his new album It’s Almost Dry.
One track on Pusha T’s highly anticipated album is titled “Rock N Roll” and includes both Kid Cudi and Kanye West. Many fans took this as Pusha T bringing Cudi and Ye back together after a recent feud. But Kid Cudi made it clear to the world, that ain’t it.
The “Day and Night” rapper wrote on social media,
“Hey! So I know some of you heard about the song I got w Pusha. I did this song a year ago when I was still cool with Kanye. I am not cool with that man.”
Cudi continued claiming he only “ok’d” the record off the strength of his relationship with Pusha T.
“He’s not my friend and I only cleared the song for Pusha cuz that’s my guy. This is the last song u will hear me on with Kanye -Scott”
Loyalty Over Everything
Cudi and Ye go way back, once good friends, addressing one another as “brother.” Kid Cudi was signed to Kanye West’s label G.O.O.D Music from 2008-2013. They also released a collaboration album “Kids See Ghost” in 2018.
Things went south earlier this year when Kanye wanted Kid Cudi to denounce Billie Eilish at Coachella, but that never happened. Kanye took that as Cudi showing where his loyalty lies, then announcing Cudi was not to be featured on “Donda 2.” Kanye also wanted Cudi to denounce his relationship with Kim’s boo, Pete Davidson.
During Kanye’s Instagram rant he wrote, “Just so everyone knows Cudi will not be on Donda because he’s friends with you know who,” referring to Kim’s new boo Pete Davidson.
