Kevin Gates, who is most known for his debut album Islah that was released in 2016, has come back into the public spotlight after some tumultuous legal troubles. The Baton Rouge native rapper went to Instagram to preview some new music and hint at an upcoming release. With his first arrest at age 13, Gates has faced some jail time here and there. In February, he was released from prison after serving just 9 months of a 30-month sentence on the count of being a felon carrying a firearm. Gates was incarcerated in Illinois, and unfortunately hasn’t been able to leave the state yet or even return to his home in California. His wife Dreka gave an update on his Instagram.
