Grammy-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar‘s new untitled unmastered solo album has reportedly demolished its competition atop the sales chart.
According to reports, K. Dot’s latest solo offering sold just under 180,000 copies after its unexpected release earlier this month.
Kendrick Lamar’s surprise Untitled Unmastered album debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, earning 178,000 equivalent album units in the week ending March 10, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 142,000 were in pure album sales. (Billboard)
NBA superstar LeBron James weighed-in on Kendrick’s new untitled unmastered album last week.
“I got an opportunity to listen to some music last few days and obviously, a good friend of mine, Kendrick, blessed me with that album that just dropped. So I can even lock in, kind of use that for motivation moving forward. So shout-out Kendrick, Top Dawg, you know, everybody there at TDE, making that great music. Appreciate it man, everything is love and it’s going to be a great stretch run for our ball club, for our team and looking forward to seeing all y’all either in the Q[uicken Loans Arena] or on the road. Let’s gear up, stay sharp, and you already know to strive for greatness.” (“Uninterrupted”)
