Grammy-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar has plenty to brag about this week thanks to his new To Pimp A Butterfly solo album reaching gold status.

According to reports, K. Dot’s newest studio album has pushed out over 500,000 copies.

Kendrick Lamar’s back in the winners circle. A month after its release, his sophomore album To Pimp A Butterfly, has tallied 513,216 in sales. Congrats to the entire TDE camp. See you at the platinum party. (Rap Radar)

Behind the scenes footage from Kendrick’s “King Kunta’ music video surfaced Friday (April 17).

Recently, music veteran Raphael Saadiq spoke on Kendrick’s greatness.

“I think every little bit helps. But I think Kendrick helps a lot more than everybody because he’s talking about things happening in our community now. It’s real, poetic; it’s introducing people to a neighborhood again of regular, actual people. His movement along with Adrian Younge, Bilal, Ali Shaheed … that generation with Kendrick’s generation and other people? That will have offspring. I feel like we just haven’t had anybody to jump off another offspring of music.” (Billboard)

Rap star Kanye West recently shouted out Kendrick and credited him for providing inspiration.

  1. Is Kendrick Lamar a man of peace?

The media, record producers..aka..modern-day-slvve-masters are hyping Kendrick as a man of peace. Though looking past the for-profit-hype Kendrick does not act like a mature, sensible man who respects his peaceful neighbors.

During a Kendrick Lamar Interview at The Breakfast Club Power 105.1 (4/3/2015) posted on YT I watched Kendrick applaud/adulate a rapper named Johnny ‘Jay Rock’ Reed McKinzie, Jr. (born March 31, 1986).

After reading his lyrics I learned Jay Rock is a damaged human being who writes about committing harmful anti-social acts against his peaceful neighbors.

Begin by reading JAY ROCK LYRICS “Diary Of A Broke Nivva” (feat. Kendrick Lamar & Giddy) to learn about their life experiences and decide for yourself the impact their activities had/have on peaceful people.

Don’t stop with this Jay Rock Rap performance, read more to learn about how victims of child abuse mature into teens and young men sharing their depression, anger and frustrations with peaceful people in communities throughout our country.

In his 2015 Grammy award winning Rap Performance titled “I”, Kendrick Lamar writes, “I’ve been dealing with depression ever since an adolescent.”

During this interview the topic of the childhood depression Kendrick writes about in “I” is brought up for discussion, and Kendrick is quick to blow off the topic.

Depression is a symptom of child abuse.

So what is the cure for a victim of childhood depression who matures into an adult victim of depression…aligning one’s self with depressed rappers who write about harming our peaceful neighbors?

    • as somebody who knows who these people are i can say your opinion is wrong. what does His Friendship have to do with his message vs Jay Rock’s? Jay Rock brought Kendrick over to TDE to deliver the messages he’s grown to deliver now. and Judge Jay By His new message when his new material arrives which will be incredible

        Hi, London.

Is Jay Rock’s new lyrical material based on his life experiences or is JR’s new material based on contrived life experiences?

Has Jay Rock disowned his past writings, and is he actively trying to end child abuse, which according to his writings JR and Kendrick are well acquainted with?

  2. Good for you, solid album. Bought it and J.coles.
Have to say I like J.Cole, and bought his album purely for the fact I like him as an artist and loved his early mix tapes but To Pimp a Butterfly was better.

Glad people still support artist who’s music you feel.

What’s 10-14 dollars for an album when you spending $10 on a dime bag or tickets for a movie? Support artist you say you like.
