K. Dot went to Instagram Saturday (April 22) and showed off a private text from his mom dukes.
Approached by paparazzi this week, Lamar playfully said he did not give President Barack Obama an early DAMN. listen.
Kendrick Lamar apparently didn’t return the love to President Obama, because he told us the former Prez didn’t get an advanced copy of his album like LeBron James did. Kendrick was leaving Mastro’s in Bev Hills Friday night when our photog brought up Obama, who previously praised Kendrick for having the best album of 2015. The rapper famously sent an early copy of his new album, “DAMN” to LeBron … but turns out Obama’s mailbox was empty. (TMZ)
A few days ago, NBA superstar LeBron James revealed Lamar blessed him with a pre-release DAMN. copy.
“I haven’t stopped listening to it since he sent it to me. I don’t even know if that was last week or not before it came out. The guy is an unbelievable talent. His wordplay and his lyrics is unbelievable. And it hit home for me at times because I was a kid that grew up in the inner city. His story of, the notion of you either play basketball or sell drugs or that’s it. There’s no out. You become a statistic. As an African-American kid growing up in the inner city, they don’t believe that you can get out and become something. That’s why I’m able to relate to a lot of his lyrics and relate to a lot of his stories. So he’s an unbelievable artist, an unbelievable person. I’m glad he’s able to put those words onto a track and then for all of us to be able to hear it. For me, I definitely appreciate it.”

This week, Lamar hinted at more new music coming during an album signing event.
As expected, the event attracted a huge turnout, with thousands of people lining up at the city’s Best Buy hoping to meet the Grammy-award winning rapper. A member of the TDE crew shared the appearance on an Instagram Live broadcast, which ended with some pretty big news. Or, at least, what sounds like big news. At around the 21-minute mark, Kendrick looks into the phone, thanks his fans, and announces: “I got some more music.” (Complex)
