Top Dawg Entertainment standout Kendrick Lamar has social media once again buzzing over a few key lines off his new “Humble” single. The Internet has even more reasons to believe he’s gunning for fellow rap star Big Sean on the infectious anthem.

Media speculation suggests there are key references to Sean Don throughout the newly released track.

In the song, K-Dot repeatedly uses Big Sean’s “lil bitch” ad-lib throughout the chorus. The “lil bitch” phrase (which could also be a flip on Big Sean’s name) was also featured in the second verse of “The Heart Part 4.” The opening verse of “Humble” also includes the lines: “My left stroke just went viral/Right stroke put lil’ baby in a spiral.” Of course, many people believe the “left stroke” was “The Heart Part 4,” and the right was “Humble,” which confirms Kendrick is going after the same rapper in both songs. Following its release, rap newcomer Lil Yachty publicly co-signed “Humble.”

Less than a week after delivering his “The Heart Part Four” single, Lamar blessed fans with his new “Humble” single and visual.

The song, less exploration of contrition on the part of Lamar than an instruction to his peers, picks up a thread NPR Music first examined following that album teaser: how the “best rapper alive” might explore the theme of God, religion and personal growth. (In the previous non-album single, “The Heart Part 4,” Lamar stuck to a similar narrative: “Tell ’em that God comin’.”) (NPR)

On his “The Heart Part Four” single, media speculated Kendrick went after Sean throughout it.

Later on, K. Dot even says, “Hoe, Jay Z Hall of Fame, sit ya punk ass down,” which some think could be a reference to Big Sean’s second album Hall of Fame. Now this is all speculation at the moment, but people also thought that Sean took a couple jabs at K.Dot in his verse on “No More Interviews” last year, rapping “And I can’t lie like I like this shit like I usually do / And I’m just not impressed by you n*ggas rapping fast / Who sound like one big asthma attack but trash when I’m rapping it back / Who you put in your top five and claim they the savior of rap.” (HNHH)
