Top Dawg Entertainment’s Kendrick Lamar is up to something. The hip-hop heavyweight has teased fans with some new cover art.
The elusive rap star went to Instagram Thursday (March 23) with a cryptic post.
A few weeks ago, Kendrick dished out details on what approach he’d take on his next album.
‘To Pimp a Butterfly’ was addressing the problem. I’m in a space now where I’m not addressing the problem anymore,” he said. “We’re in a time where we exclude one major component out of this whole thing called life: God. Nobody speaks on it because it’s almost in conflict with what’s going on in the world when you talk about politics and government and the system.” I wondered if the new record would engage directly with that conflict. “It’s very urgent,” Lamar replied. In late February, Kendrick hit the studio with labelmate ScHoolboy Q.
In early February, Lamar rubbed elbows with fellow hip-hop stud Young Thug.
