Grammy-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar sounds like he’s back on his music grind. The hip-hop superstar has linked up with veteran rock group U2 for their new “Get Out Of Your Own Way” single.

According to reports, the must-hear track is off U2’s upcoming Songs of Experience album.

Following U2 making a guest appearance on “XXX.” from Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. this past April, it looks like the latter has returned the favor, lending a spoken outro on the Irish rock band’s new single, “Get Out Of Your Own Way.” “Blessed are the filthy rich, for you can only truly own what you give away,” says Lamar toward the end of his brief part of the song. He also says “blessed are the arrogant” and “blessed are the superstars.” The “HUMBLE.” (Entertainment Weekly)

Last summer, Kendrick talked about his chart-topping DAMN. solo album.

“I think like a week after the album came out, [fans] realized you can play the album backwards,” he told MTV News correspondent Gaby Wilson. “It plays as a full story and even a better rhythm. It’s one of my favorite rhythms and tempos within the album. It’s something that we definitely premeditate while we’re in the studio.” (MTV)

Lamar also explained the biggest difference listeners will notice if they play DAMN. backwards.

“I don’t think the story necessarily changes, I think the feel changes,” he said. “The initial vibe listening from the top all the way to the bottom is … this aggression and this attitude. You know, ‘DNA,’ and exposing who I really am. You listen from the back end, and it’s almost the duality and the contrast of the intricate Kendrick Lamar. Both of these pieces are who I am.” (MTV)

In mid-August, former NBA superstar Kobe Bryant singled out Lamar on social media.
