Despite Iggy’s critics, K. Dot said Iggy deserves her spot in hip-hop.

“She’s doing her thing,” Lamar tells Billboard. “Let her. People have to go through trials and tribulations to get where they at. Do your thing, continue to rock it, because obviously God wants you here.” (Billboard)

Check out what T.I. said about Iggy’s presence in hip-hop right here…

Last October, Iggy’s mentor T.I. said too many people liked to classify artists like Azalea without looking at their full bodies of work.

“It should be attributed to her work ethic, her artistic views, her impeccable ability to kind of, she has a vision for herself and this vision for herself, she will not compromise,” Tip said when asked how Iggy should be classified. “I think she should be kind of judged based on that instead of her creed and her nationality and what country she’s from. I think all of that, those are stereotypes. I put her wherever she made the most noise, you know what I’m saying? I think when you start trying to classify people in different categories, you diminish the purpose of what we do. We try to bring people together – I think she can go into a lot of different genres.” (Hard Knock TV)

Over the summer, Tip admitted people judging Iggy and labeling her a possible racist pushes him to the edge.

“That pisses me off,” said T.I. “Simply because they don’t have any real substantial grounds. ‘I don’t like them.’ Why? ‘Just ’cause.’ What you mean just ’cause? Since when do you get the right to judge people? Who died and made you the emperor of Egypt? That kind of sh*t and then the things that they accuse her of, like the racist stuff. That’s not even her. That’s not even in her. Me knowing her, knowing where she comes from–for real, the whole racist thing, that’s American–we forget, she’s not American. So the whole Black, white, color divided thing, it isn’t a part of her DNA like it is here in America.” (Complex)

Rap veteran Rah Digga took specific aim at Iggy’s presence in hip-hop in a recent interview.

“Iggy Azalea, I can’t really get into her. Because it’s just not real to m. There is a white girl from Australia that spits in an Australian accent, and her name is Chelsea Jane. That I can get into. Teach me Australian Hip Hop culture. Don’t come to America and try to convince me that you’re Gangsta Boo… We’re not going to believe you if you’re trying to convince us that you’re out here trap shooting.” (This Is 50)

  1. J cole said it best while we hate on each other they stealing our sound styles and opinions. I can’t be only one to see how fast that star rose while others outside of Nicki can’t even rise 3 feet. Wake up or stay sleeping support your own while it’s here or welcome Elvis from the dead and that man still can’t rest.

    • Please Nicki has done just as much harm to the culture as the Iggy girl calling that bullshit she does hip hop. That bitch tried everything in her power to cross over and sell out.

    • Man shut up with that whole they stealing our sound shit, shit is played out. What is left to steal anyway? The majority of black rappers are putting out garbage just as bad, ignorant or worse than iggy. Save for a few, hip hop is garbage. Anyone is entitled to create whatever the hell they want to. It is one thing to be inspired by, and nother thing to blatantly steal. Now Iggy is garbage in my opinion, but while everyone’s sour ass is hating, she is making money. Period.

      • I wrote a nice response probably in poor taste so I got emotional but thinking bout what you said I regress just don’t tell a grown man to shut up that’s all I got to offer.

  2. Oh Kendrick, your music is getting weirder by the minute. Brah be real and stop tryna win brownie points bc your buzz is down.

Trust me, its bc IGGY makes bad music, she’s a horrible rapper ..Australian rapping with a Southern American accent. It’s like a Korean rapper from Seoul having a Jamiacan accent! She makes about as much sense as “Noreaga” on a track, lol ..if she was not a female w/ butt injections, whored her way through producers & didn’t slide into the Grammys under “white privilege”, we could say this is none race issue. But the argument begins and ends with 1 word “talent”!
