Top Dawg Entertainment’s Kendrick Lamar has fans chuckling this week after prank calling labelmate Jay Rock during a live radio interview.
After initially calling in as a female fan, K. Dot revealed his true identity and congratulated Rock on his long-awaited 90059 release.
“It’s out, it’s cracking, celebrating the bro,” K. Dot said after pranking Jay Rock by disguising his voice as a female caller. “It feels good, man, just seeing the growth for someone who kicked in the door for me and TDE, it’s always been the big bro – it’s crazy, it’s inspiring.” (Power 106)

TDE and K. Dot took to their respective Twitter pages to shout-out Rock on his new project coming out a few days ago.
After a few setbacks, the album arrived on digital retailer iTunes last Friday (September 11).
Rock released a mini-documentary in support of the new album earlier this month.
As he nears the release of his sophomore album 90059, Jay Rock takes us back to where it all started in a documentary of the same name. The five-minute clip starts in his hometown of Watts and makes stops at his album listening sessions in L.A. and New York. There is also footage of the TDE Christmas concert, TDE Dew Tour, and recording sessions for the album, with cameos from his TDE labelmates including Kendrick Lamar and Ab-Soul. (Rap-Up)
