Top Dawg Entertainment affiliate G-Weeder is on the road to recovery following a near-death shooting and has received some support from longtime pal Kendrick Lamar.

GW went to Instagram last night (May 20) with a Facetime screenshot of K. Dot checking in on him.

Earlier this week, details surfaced about G-Weeder getting shot in the head.

The news was shared by Inglewood rapper Skeme and JRoc The Bodyguard who works closely with Nipsey Hussle and other rappers from L.A. area. G-Weed is a known Piru and grew up with Kendrick Lamar in Compton. He was featured in the Noisey: Bompton documentary and a few of Kendrick’s music videos as well, including ‘King Kunta’. G-Weed is also one of the guys who makes an appearance on the cover of Kendrick Lamar’s sophomore album To Pimp A Butterfly and was with the rapper when he received the key to his city of Compton last year.
