Kanye & Carti Are NYers Now?

Why is Kanye West helming a Fivio Foreign + Alicia Keys NYC anthem featuring Playboi Carti on adlibs?  The “City of Gods” release is reminiscent of  “Off-The-Grid” with a Youtube mashup vibe – here are six pause-worthy moments from Ye that you don’t want to miss.

Kanye Goes Crazy On “City Of Gods”

1. “You got an album, postpone it…”

Kanye seemingly took a shot at Lil Durk and anyone else planning to drop an album on his February 22 DONDA 2release date.  But there is a double meaning: Kanye also acknowledges that he’s got a history of delaying his studio album releases but points out that they chart anyway.  DONDA was delayed more than three times but still managed to sell over three hundred thousand copies and debut at #1 on the Billboard 200.

2. “Me and Drizzy we at peace…”

Just last year, everyone was picking sides between DONDA and CLB, which created more beef between the two rap icons who dropped albums around the same time.  They reconciled with the help of J. Prince.

3. “This afternoon 100 goons pulling up to SNL…”

SNL is the home of Kim Kardashian’s new boo, Pete Davidson.  Kanye’s taking another jab at the comedian/actor, following up on his recent “God save my life so I can beat Pete Davidson’s ass” quote from his collabo with The Game, “My Life Was Never Eazy.”  Plus,  Ye has talked about his issues with Saturday Night Live many times  – in a November 2021 interview with Drink Champs, Ye accused SNL of making his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian joke about their divorce.

4. “They threw a party and wont even invite you…”

On January 15th, 2022, Ye claimed that he was not invited to his daughter Chicago’s birthday party, sharing that he was actually denied access to the address.

5. “And if I let ’em have my wife, nigga should thank me…”

Kanye has still not gotten over his pending divorce with Kim Kardashian. He sends another message to Kim’s new item Pete Davidson, and tells him basically to say “Thank you.”

6. “And if I buy the Chicago Bulls, Imma go link with Mike…” (Michael Jordan)

Is Kanye in talks to buy the Bulls for #BlackFutureMonth? Looks like Ye has his eyes set on buying the Chicago Bulls basketball franchise. Their net worth value is well over $3 billion according to Forbes. While we are not certain what Ye’s exact net worth is (numbers that’ve been thrown around are $1.8, $6.6, and $10 billion), it seems like he may still be far off from actually buying the Chicago Bulls.

Kanye Co-Signs Snoop

Kanye West is showing love to Snoop Dogg after rapper Curren$y took to Twitter to congratulate to Tha Doggfather on his latest power move, hailing it as a prime example of Ye’s  “Black Future Month” movement with a tweet:  “Snoop acquiring Deathrow is Black Future Month As F*ck.

Lil Durk Vs Kanye

Lil Durk announced he will drop his next album the same day as Kanye – February 22nd – putting them in direct competition.   Lil Durk has announced the release date for his next album and he’s betting big on himself.   The Chicago-born rapper confirmed that 7220 will indeed be out February 22, ending a nearly year-long wait for fans and positioning himself for a face-off with fellow Chiraq rapper, Kanye West
