Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West is showing the world he has a strong connection to the fashion world by selling out his Yeezy Season 1 collection across the nation.

According to reports, Ye’s high-profile line has sparked massive interest at luxury boutiques like New York City’s Barneys store since its release last week.

Tom Kalenderian, executive vice president and general merchandise manager of men’s and Chelsea Passage at Barneys New York, said lines formed outside of the company’s Madison Avenue flagship store on Thursday morning. Customers had to secure a wristband on Wednesday night to shop the collection. It was carried at 16 Barneys’ locations and released on its e-commerce site at 10 a.m. Thursday. (WWD)

Ye’s new line has also generated interest from the digital retailer market.

Online men’s wear retailer Mr Porter picked up 16 ready-to-wear pieces and two colorways of the 950 Boot. Sam Lobban, buying manager for the site, called the demand for the product “huge” and said everything sold well across the board. The retailer will also sell the next colorway of the 350 Boost sneaker, which Lobban said could be “worn by anyone.” (WWD)

Kanye’s pricey 950 Boot has sold out at various locations.

It seems that the most popular item was the 950 Boot, which retails for $585. It was the first to sell out at Barneys and at Wish, a streetwear store based in Atlanta. (In Style)

Ye initially treated fans to a look at his fancy line back in February.

When the “Only One” rapper made his debut as a designer with Yeezy Season 1 earlier this year in February, he didn’t just make fans out of Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner; he won over 30 formidable buyers—who are responsible for the current shortage of inventory. (ELLE)

  1. so insane that the media (the media owned by kris jenner, the media she PAYS) is going on & on about his clothes selling out – really? the line was sold at 1 store – Barney’s New York… 1 store and they are reporting like it is nationwide. One store???? oh and wow 48 people waited outside!! I swear, they just kiss KW butt so much! this line will NOT sell out nationwide and it shows how scared he is to release nationwide or have it carreid in for instnce Macy’s everywhere. he knows it wont sell. Same way he has limited released all the shoes– its so stupid! how much you want ot bet that of thos e48 people waiting (again WOW 48 people) were people who worked for him.. He is sucha fraud

  2. 16 stores? they are covering this like its nationwide.. AND it is Barney’s.. This isn’t Macys okay nationwide. And they sold out well yea, (they )meaning Kanye & Adidas have limited released every shoe so far to create this BUZZ – its total BS – and Barney’s is a luxury boutique store. I read somewhere else that there were only 48 people camped out in the NYC Barney’s WOW 48 people and they sold out … it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see thur this crap. Aint nobody stupid enough to buy a hanes sweatshirt with holes in it. I bet my life that the idiots, those 48 people standing outside were employees of KW. He has adopted the whole Kris Jenner hype BS…. release that crap to Macys a major retailer nationwide, (after all it is Adidas) that crap will be on the clearance rack by next week!

    • Even if there were 48 people they are still buying at least +150 $ worth of items not 10$ T-shirts,do the math moron…
