A snippet of what is purported to be a new Kanye West track, titled “Black Bruce Wayne,” made its way to the Web Friday (May 30), leading fans to wonder: Could this be a peek at Yeezus 2? There are a lot of rumors floating around the Web with regard to the snippet — that it features 2 Chainz, that someone paid $500 for the leak — but as we seasoned Web denizens know, rumors are rumors. Recent reports suggested Kanye’s upcoming LP would have some soul vibes embedded into it.
Update: A source says that as of two-weeks ago, there’s 12 songs on the album. Out of six heard, it’s “mostly a mixture of soul samples and tamed ‘Yeezus’-esque darkness… nothing abrasive.” (Billboard)
Back in March, reports suggested Mr. West had delayed some touring dates to wrap-up his highly-anticipated LP.
In May, Kanye West was scheduled for a series of tour dates in Australia, but as Roc Nation points out, those dates have now been postponed until September. It’s reportedly due to “unexpected timing requirements” related to West finishing his next album. (Pitchfork)
Although brief with details, rap veteran Q-Tip broke the news of his involvement on Ye’s next album last December.
When asked about his upcoming album, he was a little bit cagier. “It’s comin’ man, I’m excited about it,” he said about the project, titled Last Zulu. “I’m producing Kanye’s new album with Rick Rubin, I’m doin’ that, so that’s coming up.” “It’s hard to describe… definitely bars,” he continued about Last Zulu. “Bars is crazy, beats is crazy, it’s gonna be darker. It’s gonna be like the bad twin of Tribe, but not necessarily in terms of content, just musically.” (XXL Mag)
