Kanye West’s New “Underground” TV Series Looking For Cast Members

Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West reportedly has a new television series in the works called “Underground” is on the prowl for some additional cast members.

According to reports, the new series will start filming next week and is still looking for key actors.

‘Underground’ features Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Christopher Meloni, and Aldis Hodge. Kanye West recently agreed to executive produce the music behind the new TV series, ‘Underground’. Filming starts on April 13th and casting directors are casting a ton of roles as it films throughout Louisiana. (Project Casting)

According to the show’s description, the story centers on a group of slaves traveling to freedom.

Underground, from Sony Pictures TV and Tribune Studios, follows a group of slaves who plan a daring escape from a Georgia plantation to cross 600 miles to freedom, aided along the way by a secret abolitionist couple running a station on the Underground Railroad, as they evade those tasked with bringing them back, dead or alive. Along with this project, Kanye and longtime pal Damon “Dame” Dash are reportedly working on rapper GLC upcoming new album.

Chicago staple and G.O.O.D Music vet GLC has announced that his upcoming album, The Book of St. Ism, will be co-executive produced by Dame Dash and Kanye West. “GLC is the best at what he does,” Dash said via press release. “When he played me his music, I knew I wanted to put this album together and I gave Kanye a call and brought him in.” From his formative verses on The College Dropout’s “Spaceships” and Late Registration’s “Drive Slow,” to his hook and spoken-word bridge on Kendrick Lamar’s “Poe Man’s Dreams,” GLC’s been pushing an “Ism” ideology that he plans to document in full on his new record.
