According to Smith, he has nearly seven records in the works with West.

“You know I’ve recorded a lot,” Will Smith says. “I’ve recorded a lot, but I don’t have anything I like yet. I’ve recorded around 7 or 8 [songs] and it’s not for certain, it’s just explorative…” (Hollyscoop)

Although brief with his comments, Big Willy recently revealed he hit the studio with the Grammy-winning stud.

The 46-year-old actor has been in the studio with Kanye West and has even been taking tips from his 16-year-old son Jaden. His last solo album was Lost And Found in 2005. “I went into the studio with Kanye. I’m thinking about it. I’m exploring,” he said at a special screening of his new film, Focus, in London. A couple years ago, Team Kanye responded to remarks Will made about his family.

“Kanye knows Will personally and [doesn’t think] Will meant any disrespect to Kim or her family,” a source close to Kanye tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “He didn’t even say anything about Kim or her family. He’s a veteran at this and even if he meant it about them, he didn’t say [anything] directly about them.” Both Kanye and mother-to-be Kim Kardashian love Will and wife Jada Pinkett-Smith, our source tells us. They’re huge fans of the Smith family’s work. (Hollywood Life)

Smith previously separated the comparisons of his family to the Kardashians.

Will Smith’s son Jaden may be hanging with the youngest member of the Kardashian clan, Kylie Jenner, but that doesn’t mean that the two famous families share the same feelings about fame. In an interview with New York Magazine for their upcoming film “After Earth,” the father and son revealed that they’re more interested in what sort of contributions they can make via their fame than in simply maintaining that fame at any cost. “For our family, the entire structure of our life… the entire purpose is for everyone to be able to create in a way that makes them happy,” Will Smith said. “Fame is almost an inconsequential by-product of what we’re really trying to accomplish.” (MTV)
