G.O.O.D. Music boss Kanye West is cleaning house. New reports claim the hip-hop superstar has cut ties with some longtime affiliates including celebrity manager Scooter Braun.
According to reports, Kanye has ditched Braun after nearly three years together.
After managing West for two and a half years, Scooter Braun is parting ways with the hip-hop star as a management client, though the two men’s companies will continue to work together, sources tell Billboard. The shift was sparked by West’s recent decision to “leave the traditional music business,” a source says. (Billboard)
In addition to his manager, Kanye has parted with a couple attorneys.
According to sources close to Kanye, Braun, along with music lawyers Howard King and Peter Paterno are no longer working with the star. We’re told Kanye made an ultimatum to his top confidantes that they had to leave their respective businesses and become “In-house” employees for the Yeezy brand. Braun and the lawyers refused to abandon their other clients, and decided it was time to move on from Kanye. (The Blast)

The same week, a report emerged about Kris playing a key role in having Kanye ditch a longtime manager.
“They’ve been off and on for years,” said a source of West and Zivkovic. “But Kris is in [West’s] ears. Kanye’s been making changes and [he and Zivkovic] have grown apart — but Kris definitely gives her opinion and Kanye’s all ears. She’s about brand building and is gangster at it,” the insider said.
