Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West has a little explaining to do. The hip-hop superstar is catching heat after appearing to show some sympathy toward disgraced singer R. Kelly over the weekend.

New footage has gone viral of Ye speaking up for musicians’ artistry and urging people to support entertainers for their work.

“They just gonna pull up full documentaries on him, – Then they gonna come with the Michael [Jackson] documentary. … We can all enjoy all their music all we want. I thought I wasn’t going to go there today. If we’re gonna tear down artists, let’s go ahead and take [Leonardo] da Vinci out the Lourve while we’re at it. Let’s take down all the art.” (USA Today)

Instead of staying mum, Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian immediately provided some context behind Ye’s remarks.

Despite the craziness, new footage has emerged and shows Kanye making a reference to docs exposing musicians.

1:53 PM PT — We’ve obtained an extended version from Kanye’s service on Sunday, and he never mentions R. Kelly. In fact, Kanye keeps the conversation almost entirely about himself and his experiences in 2018. Our sources say Kanye’s quote about documentaries was nothing but bad timing. (TMZ)
