In-between songs, Mr. West talked about an arrary of topics including a personal conversation he had with an actor following last weekend’s Video Music Awards show.

He went on to reveal how he called Jay Pharoah after the MTV Video Music Awards, in which the SNL cast member and VMA host had impersonated him. “I called Jay Pharoah right after the MTV awards,” West said. “I said, ‘I appreciate your show, but let me tell you about my story. Let me tell you about what I went through to get to that position.'” West also observed that he may be the only non-crazy person around. “I’ll be sitting around award shows looking around at [expletive] like ‘I’m the only one here whose not crazy,'” West said. Yeezus also stressed the amount of effort he puts into his publicized music car.

“You know, they try to make it seem like a self absorbed thing, but the bottom line is that I want to be able to create more, to create more that can help more people,” West said, adding later that he didn’t hold grudges against the media for portraying him differently. “I know everybody’s doing their job,” West said. “But before we go to the next song, what I want people to realize is what we do we put our love, our heart, our pain, our story, our lives into it.” (Penn Live)

Along with Kanye, West Coast rap heavyweight Kendrick Lamar earned a headlining bill at the Los Angeles-based Made In America event.

The Budweiser Made in America Festival is underway at Grand Park in downtown Los Angeles, with dozens of rock, hip-hop and electronic acts and headliners including Kanye West, Imagine Dragons, John Mayer and Kendrick Lamar. Around 35,000 fans were expected to attend each day of the all-ages, two-day event, much of which happens at the foot of City Hall. (Los Angeles Times)

At last weekend’s MTV Video Music Awards, “Saturday Night Live” cast member Jay Pharoah took direct aim at him.

A lot seemed to go down during last night’s MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), but one of our favorite moments was when Saturday Night Live star Jay Pharoah took to the stage impersonating everyone’s favorite preacher, Kanye West. And while we loved seeing his spot on impression, watching wife Kim Kardashian and Kendall and Kylie Jenner react to it was even better. (Music Times)
