Yeezy promised an upcoming album and revealed his ability to go paperless with lyrics.

“I’m always working, just talking to people like I’ve already got some lines that might make it to the album just from having a conversation,” Ye said in an interview. “I haven’t written down lyrics in like six years, but as far as rapping goes though, uh, how do we word this? [Michael] Jordan, Michael Jackson of it, that’s what I do. It’s time for me to bust another rap album… I kill that rap sh*t, that’s what I do. I’m working on stuff, lyrics right now and they’re awes-mazing, they’re basically untouchable and I’m about to take it to a whole ‘nother level and I would be scared if I was not me.” (MTV)

During an 808s & Heartbreak listening session last fall, Ye said a rap project would likely drop this month.

“If I wanna rap, I’ll rap,” he said. “If I wanna sing, I’ll sing. I told Jay[-Z], L.A Reid and everyone at my label that I needed to put this out right now, I’ll have another album in June, but this has to come out right now. The way these songs connect with you, God uses me as a vessel- he puts me through pain so that I can go through it, and create…” (The Fader)

Despite being criticized for his ego in the past, the rapper recently described his emphasis on appreciation.

“I’m not more humble but more gracious,” Ye said in an interview. “If you look up the definitions of the word humble, it’s all negative connotations, like one should bow down. I can only be fully me, and be fully appreciative of others, especially my fans. So I show my appreciation. If someone wants to take a picture with me or stop and talk to me because they appreciate my work, then I should absolutely show them that in return. Instead of having someone take a picture of me at 5 A.M. when I’m irritated and tired. I’m glad to say I am finally growing into my manhood at 31. At the end of the day, I hope people will say, ‘That guy really cares about quality and wants to be an example and have a better life and inspire others to as well.'” (Essence)

In addition to his album and Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3, Ye is reportedly hitting the studio with Soulja Boy Tell Em.

“I know a million producers that are no-names, but they got hot beats,” Soulja Boy said in an interview last month. “I will be going back in the lab to produce beats on this album, I really haven’t produced since my second album, but I’m looking forward to doing a 50/50 split beat with Kanye West. I think that’ll be hot because he’s a great lyricist, but an awesome producer as well. I feel like I’m an awesome producer too, and both of us in the studio together at the same time can come out with a smash.” (Radio Planet TV)

Neither a name or release date has been announced for Ye’s forthcoming album.
