G.O.O.D. Music’s CyHi The Prynce is ready to make it a cold summer. The hip-hop veteran has updated fans on the status of his crew’s long-awaited Cruel Winter project.

According to Prynce, technical holdups have kept the mysterious 2012 Cruel Summer follow-up shelved.

“That was more of a ‘G.O.O.D. Friday’ feel, that got you guys ready for Cruel Winter,” said CyHi. “Cruel Winter sounds a little different because you might want to make it a winter album. Those are more summer songs. I don’t know how he wants to do that, but we have a lot of records together.” (Rap-Up)

Back in February, CyHi breathed some new life into the delayed compilation album.

Cruel Winter is not just a myth. In his recent Reddit AMA, CyHi The Prynce revealed to GOOD Music fans that Cruel Winter is still on the way, and that he’s poised to pack a couple verses on there. For those who felt “Champions” was an all-the-way banger, this is great news. Unfortunately, there was no mention of a specific release date. (HNHH)

Last summer, G.O.O.D. Music affiliate 2 Chainz spoke on the delayed effort.

“I went up to work with those guys a couple of months ago. Everything is coming along. That’s the thing—it’s ‘Ye’s project. Obviously I’m with G.O.O.D. music, but who knows? “Champions” is a record that I did a while ago, and just like a lot of these records, when they come out I’m eager to hear the changes in the level of greatness—it always steps up. You think a record is already on a certain level, but bruh just put his jumper cables [on it]. For the most part I don’t know where he is with finishing it, but I did do some more work on it.” (Complex)

A few months prior, G.O.O.D. Music boss Kanye West released the project’s first official single, “Champions.”

The “Champions” are here. After making its radio debut earlier this month, the lead single off G.O.O.D. Music’s upcoming Cruel Winter album has officially hit iTunes, Spotify, TIDAL, and other digital platforms. The track, which premiered on Real 92.3, features a star-studded lineup, including Kanye West, Gucci Mane, Desiigner, Quavo, Travis Scott, Big Sean, 2 Chainz, and Yo Gotti. (Rap-Up)
