Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West has promised to help diehard fans save a few bucks by lowering the purchase price of his upcoming Yeezy Season clothing line.

Approached by paparazzi this week, Ye vowed to make his brand more affordable.

TMZ’s correspondent pressed West about the bottom line, telling the rapper he needs to drop his current prices. He agreed. “We’re gonna get ’em lowered!” West enthused as he and security stepped into an elevator. He gave no further details about how the brand was planning to cut its costs, but assured the change is imminent. “Yeah, next season,” said West, before wishing blessings to David Bowie’s family and signing a fan’s record. Ye’s high-profile line had sparked massive interest at luxury boutiques like New York City’s Barneys store when it released last fall.

Tom Kalenderian, executive vice president and general merchandise manager of men’s and Chelsea Passage at Barneys New York, said lines formed outside of the company’s Madison Avenue flagship store on Thursday morning. Customers had to secure a wristband on Wednesday night to shop the collection. It was carried at 16 Barneys’ locations and released on its e-commerce site at 10 a.m. Thursday. (WWD)

Ye’s line had also generated interest from the digital retailer market.

Online men’s wear retailer Mr Porter picked up 16 ready-to-wear pieces and two colorways of the 950 Boot. Sam Lobban, buying manager for the site, called the demand for the product “huge” and said everything sold well across the board. The retailer will also sell the next colorway of the 350 Boost sneaker, which Lobban said could be “worn by anyone.” (WWD)

Kanye’s pricey 950 Boot has sold out at various locations.

It seems that the most popular item was the 950 Boot, which retails for $585. It was the first to sell out at Barneys and at Wish, a streetwear store based in Atlanta. (In Style)
