Hours prior to proposing to mega reality star Kim Kardashian, rap heavyweight Kanye West gushed over just how much he loves the mother of his daughter North West.
Despite having a few notable high-profile girlfriends in the past, Mr. West pointed out why he connected with Kim K more than any other previous lover.
“I have never loved any girl other than my mother as much as I love my girlfriend and I’m so happy to be with her, for us to live this life together. And with our relationship with God to be able to live forever in heaven together, too. And also to raise a family, a strong family,” Kanye explained in an interview. “She’s been spending her whole check on clothes since she was 16, just like me. And that’s the reason why both of us are the most influential — I think me and my girl are extremely influential greatly due to the paparazzi.” (106 KMEL)
Hours after the Internet exploded with reports of Ye popping the big question, Kim K publicly showcased her new ring to the masses.
Kim Kardashian posted a new photo on Instagram several minutes ago. The focus of the picture is her brand new engagement ring which she received from Kanye West last night. AT&T Park is in the background of the picture, as that’s where the engagement ceremony took place. Kim kept the caption simple: “YES!!!” No date set for the wedding just yet. Kanye is in the midst of his Yeezus tour with Kendrick Lamar, and will be performing tonight in San Jose. Kim accompanied him to the opening of the tour in Seattle, but no word on whether or not she will be coming to tonight’s show also. Kanye had Sunday off after the show in Vancouver got postponed due to technical issues. (Complex)
According to reports, Mr. West asked for Kim K’s hand in marriage on her birthday this past Monday.
Sweet Yeezus! Kanye West swooped into San Francisco Monday night and proposed to Kim Kardashian on her 33rd birthday, E! News reported early Tuesday morning. The rapper, 36, popped the question to the mother of his child at AT&T Park, which was rented out for Kardashian’s big day, the site reported. Having received future mother-in-law Kris Jenner‘s blessing, West proposed to Kardashian with a 15-carat diamond ring made by celebrity jeweler Lorraine Schwartz. (New York Daily News)

Maintaining the theatricality, West also arranged for the jumbo screen to read “PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!” and a 50-piece orchestra to play Lana Del Rey’s “Young and Beautiful” and Keri Hilson, Ne-Yo and West’s ‘Knock You Down.” (New York Daily News)
Kim is hoping third time will be the charm after previously donning wedding rings on two past occasions.
This will be not the first wedding for Kardashian, who has been married twice before. Kardashian recently ended a bitter divorce battle with NBA player Kris Humphries. The two were married for 72 days back in 2011, but their divorce case lasted longer than the two were married. Their marriage finally ended earlier this year. Kardashian also was married to music producer Damon Thomas, ending in 2004. (ABC News)
