Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West is making headlines this week after stealing the spotlight at last night’s TIME 100 Most Influential People party in New York City.
The rap star treated invited guests to a 20-minute performance at the Lincoln Center.
Kanye West wasn’t just the headliner as he rocked the Time 100 Gala in New York City Tuesday night, the hip hop artist was the venerable magazine’s cover boy too. Time named West and wife Kim Kardashian to its 2015 list of the most influential people in the world, joining the likes of Apple CEO Tim Cook, German Prime Minister Angela Merkel and Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Comedienne Amy Schumer attempted to prank Kanye West and wife Kim Kardashian last night (April 21).
Comedy Central comedian Amy Schumer seemed to trip and fall right in front of Kanye and wife Kim Kardashian West as they were walking into the Lincoln Center event in New York City. “I saw them and said to my publicist, ‘Can I pretend to fall?’ and she said, ‘I can’t stop you,'” Schumer told Time about the stunt. It appeared that Kim and Kanye looked down and kept right on walking. (USA Today)

By his side at the event – where he was honored as one of TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people – was fellow honoree and wife Kim Kardashian West, who told PEOPLE following Kanye’s performance that she “never knows” what he’s going to do. “He always like to surprise me with what he has up his sleeve, so I’m always so pleasantly surprised,” said Kim, 34, adding that it was “so very special” that the couple were each honored by TIME.
