Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West made sure to let the world know he has no hard feelings about Nike releasing his long-awaited Yeezy Red October sneakers recently during a New York concert.

According to reports, Mr. West embraced the all-red everything kicks by autographing a few at his last Yeezus tour stop over the weekend.

Shouting out someone named “Rob,” Kanye signed the microphone “from Yeezus.” The reason why Rob was receiving this signed souvenir? His choice of tattoo. Rob was shown backstage with a tattoo of the word Yeezus on his chest. Kanye was also seen signing several pairs of the recently released Red October sneakers, and performed his brand new “Drunk In Love” remix. (Complex)

Recently, a Nike rep claimed consumer demand forced them to make the sneakers available earlier this month.

A representative for Nike said in an email “Nike was committed to releasing the Red color way. And it was clear the consumer was asking for it. Nike communicated directly to nearly 2.6 million Twitter followers when we made it available for purchase….This is the final shoe in the Yeezy collection.” A representative for Kanye West did not return a request for comment. The exclusive kicks managed to reach out-of-stock status in just over ten minutes.

Without warning, Nike tweeted a purchase link to their online store at 1 p.m. EST. Only 11 minutes later, the $245 shoe was sold out, leaving many fans upset that they couldn’t get their hands on a pair. It’s unknown if Nike plans to release more online or at retail stores. Nike launched the original Air Yeezy in 2009 and followed it up with two colorways of the Air Yeezy II in 2012. Due to the limited quantity, the shoe fetched as much as $90,000 on eBay. (Rap-Up)

Back in December, mega retailer Foot Locker announced the pricey, limited edition sneakers’ setback.

Only a few days ago, Footlocker shared details of its imminent December 27 online release of its red Nike Air Yeezy II. Other release information was heard globally as well, including JUICE Hong Kong’s drop. But in what has become indicative of the whole Red Nike Air Yeezy II story, more changes have surfaced with no concrete details. Footlocker has since announced the cancellation of its December 27 drop, and JUICE as well as seen its release cancelled. For China, Nike is set to release it online in the region via a Nike China online-only release (which may or may not go through). One thing that comes to mind, can Nike continue to label the shoe the “Yeezy” or is there more to it? (HYPEBEAST)
