According to reports, Ye, who is now officially partnered with Nike rival adidas, addressed his publicized split from the sneaker giant Saturday (February 7) night.

Taking over the stage, Kanye took a brief minute to taunt and speak out at Nike, the company responsible for his previous two Yeezy sneakers. “I just want to talk to Portland right quick……everybody at the Nike office right quick,” said Kanye before pointing up at Jay Z in the crowd. “Hov..Hov I ain’t going to talk too long, but I got to say something. Cause I know the execs are saying ‘Nike ain’t scared of Kanye West’,” he continued. “Should Nike be scared of Kanye West?,” Kanye asked the crowd before going into a medley of “Black Skinhead,” “New Slaves,” “Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” “Gold Digger,” and “Clique” while Travi$ Scott crowd surfed. Reports also claim Ye sported his new adidas kicks during the concert.

Over the past few days, West had been teasing his upcoming yeezy.supply partnership with Adidas on Twitter, with the unveiling scheduled for New York Fashion Week. In fact, when West took the stage to debut his and Big Sean’s collaborative cut “Blessings” live (sans Drake), West was wearing his new Yeezy 750 Boost sneakers. With his new kicks in tow, the rapper decided to take aim at Nike, the shoe company that West previously partnered with – they released his first two Yeezy sneakers – before an acrimonious split in 2013. Pictures of Kanye’s new adidas kicks, tentatively titled the “Yeezy Boost,” surfaced amid buzzing rumors of a big unveiling going down soon this week.

Unofficially dubbed the “Yeezy Boost” by those in Kanye’s camp, the sneaker retains a number of the elements of West’s initial Nike collaborations (namely, the strap across the toe) while moving in a much more fashion-forward, less athletic-inspired direction. (GQ)
