Hollywood star Will Smith may have some gems stashed away after recently revealing a studio session with elusive rapper Kanye West.

Asked about resurrecting his rap career, Big Willy said he has linked with Yeezy on at least two occasions.

“I’ve been messing around with Kanye, we went into the studio a couple of times,” Smith revealed in an interview. “I might get the bug. I’m not gonna do it unless I’m truly inspired but Ye’s been pushing me a little bit.” (Hip Hollywood)

Last year, Will went back to his younger days by rapping the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” theme song during an interview.

Forget “Parents Just Don’t Understand.” This time around it’s the younger set who may be out of the loop, as Will Smith revisits his TV roots by rapping out the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song on the U.K.’s Graham Norton Show. But The Men in Black 3 star wasn’t alone in his flashback rap-ture… The audience sang along with every syllable (the music kicks in at about the 1:40 mark). (E! Online)

Smith also remixed his 1991 DJ Jazzy Jeff smash anthem “Summertime” last summer.

We know him better as Will Smith than the Fresh Prince these days, but the “Men in Black 3” star is getting back on the mic. The 43-year-old actor has recorded a remix of his 1991 still-fresh classic with DJ Jazzy Jeff, “Summertime” (which, let’s be honest, we still have in rotation, especially when the weather heats up). It’s “a groove slightly transformed, just a bit of a break from the norm,” Smith rhymes over the familiar beat. “Just a little somethin’ to break the monotony of all that hard-core dance that it’s gotten to be.” TMZ posted about a minute of the reworked hit, which will serve as an intro to “Summertime 3,” a forthcoming mixtape from DJ Jazzy Jeff and Mick Boogie. Over the fall, he came out to show support for fellow Philadelphia native Meek Mill.

On Oct. 10, a few more-than-notable guests stopped by a listening party for Meek Mill ‘s “Dreams & Nightmares” at New York’s Electric Lady Studios. Jay-Z and Will Smith poked their heads into the private event before the Maybach Music Group rapper previewed his album for a small crowd. By the end of the evening, producer/singer The-Dream, Philadelphia Eagles wideout DeSean Jackson, labelmate Wale and Maybach head Rick Ross had all shown up to support the 25-year-old MC. “He’s earned this himself,” Ross told the crowd. “I’m just proud of the homey.” “Dreams & Nightmares,” due Oct. 30 on Maybach/Warner Bros. Records, is only Mill’s studio debut. But the star-studded event demonstrated the buzz he already has. “Any time you see your work being recognized by some of the greatest in the game, it feels good,” says Mill, born Robert Williams. “It serves as motivation.” (Billboard)
