Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West is reportedly fully behind actor Idris Elba possibly leading a cast of Hollywood studs for being the next James Bond character.
In Kanye’s opinion, Elba’s talent places him in a class by himself.
“The movies he has been making are special, and when the role for James Bond comes up it needs to be his. James Bond is a role made for British actors and you won’t find a British actor who has the talent of Idris. To be honest you won’t find many anywhere who have his talent. Artists should be visionaries. A black James Bond would be visionary no doubt.” (The Sun)

Buzz about Idris being considered as the next fictional superhero spy sprouted online earlier this month.
The casting decision has been a topic of discussion lately after a leaked email was published from the recent Sony hacking scandal. The message backed Elba to take over from Daniel Craig when he departs the franchise. Sony’s chairman Amy Pascal reportedly wrote in the email: “Idris should be the next Bond.” (Digital Spy)
Elba also addressed the debate on social media a few days ago.

Controversial media personality Rush Limbaugh recently spoke out against Elba being up for the potential role.
Conservative US commentator Rush Limbaugh said Elba could not play the secret agent due to his race. “He was white and Scottish, period. That is who James Bond is. I know it’s racist to probably even point this out…We had 50 years of white Bonds because Bond is white. Bond was never black,” he said on his radio show. (The Independent)
