Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West has the Internet in a frenzy after appearing to omit longtime friend Jay Z's name during his weekend Bonnaroo Music & Art Festival performance. #JiggaWhat
According to reports, Yeezy notably fell silent on a Jay line during his “Cold” set.
The rapper also left out Jay Z’s name from any song in which he is usually mentioned, something he also did at his recent performance at Austin’s X Music festival. In his performance of ‘Cold’, for example, the lyrics usually go, “Lucky I ain’t had Jay drop him from the team,” but instead, West left a notable silence where Jay Z’s name should have gone. Some reports claim Ye’s issue with Jigga may stem from him not attending his overseas wedding last month.
Kanye has been showing his anger toward Jay Z ditching his wedding for awhile now. At Kanye’s X Games performance on June 7, the rapper first ignited the hip hop feud. While she did not give a definite answer, Kanye’s mother-in-law Kris Jenner said addressed Jay Z’s wedding no-show.
During an interview with Australia radio station KIIS 106.5 FM on Tuesday, the E! reality star shared that Kimye’s wedding weekend was unaffected by the power couple’s absence. “There was so much commotion and excitement, I never really gave that a second thought,” Kim’s mother explained. “If you had been there, you would have thought that was the last thing on anyone’s mind.” She added, “[I] just assumed they were working.” (E!
