Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West opted out of getting caught in tabloid headlines following last weekend’s Video Music Awards by heading directly to the studio with pop star Miley Cyrus.
According to reports, the two musicians worked together on a secret collaboration.
After tormenting the Twitterverse with her twerking routine at the VMAs, Miley Cyrus went right into the studio with Kanye West to record a remix of his song “Black Skinhead,” Page Six has exclusively learned. Cyrus skipped her own VMA after-party at No. 8 and went into the studio for what her reps described as a late-night, “top- secret” collaboration, which sources said was with none other than West. The “Yeezus” rapper was one of the few artists not spotted out at Jay Z and Diddy’s bash in New York, which went into the early hours of Monday.” (New York Post)
Reports also claim, barring any changes, Miley will appear on a remix to Ye’s “Black Skinhead” Yeezus track.
West was also said to have headed straight to the studio after the MTV event at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. We hear Cyrus will appear with West on a remix of “Black Skinhead,” due to be part of a remix EP that will be released later this year. West was due to perform “Skinhead” at the VMAs, but reportedly changed his mind at the last minute to perform the haunting track “Blood on the Leaves,” at which time viewers only saw his enlarged shadow rapping against a backdrop of a forest. Earlier this summer, Yeezy treated fans to his must-see “Black Skinhead” music video.
Kanye West wasn’t to happy about the unfinished version of ‘Black Skinhead’ leaking last week and he took to twitter to express that frustration. “Me and Nick Knight have been working on this video for 5 months and for creatives it’s heartbreaking when something like this happens….Allow me and Nick to give the world what we’ve been losing sleep over.” Tonight he returns with the official Nick Knight-directed video. Not too much of a difference between the unfinished and finished version visual-wise but those viewing the video on Kanye’s website can now control the pace and take screenshots throughout as well. Different and unexpected to say the least. ‘Black Skinhead’ can be found on ‘Ye’s sixth solo album ‘Yeezus’. (Direct Lyrics)
Weeks prior, he hopped onto his Twitter page and asked everyone to take an unapproved leaked version down.
“The BLKKK SKKKN HD video that leaked yesterday was not the official version.,” Ye tweeted July 9.
“Me and Nick Knight have been working on this video for 5 months and for creatives it’s heartbreaking when something like this happens.”
“The final version will be ready within the next week.”
“So any website that may have the unapproved / unfinished ruff. I ask you to please take it down.”
“Allow me and Nick to give the world what we’ve been losing sleep over.”
“And to who ever leaked the video… FUK YOU!” (Kanye West’s Twitter)
