G.O.O.D. Music boss Kanye West took a minute to shout-out protégé Desiigner on his immediate success with the rollout of his hit “Panda” single this week.
Yeezy applauded the hip-hop artist’s undeniable hit on Twitter last night (April 27).
Desiigner’s “Panda” hit has become the number one song in the country.
An 18-year-old unknown just swiped Rihanna’s No. 1 crown. For nine weeks straight, her Drake-assisted Work reigned atop the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. But on Monday, the ubiquitous dancehall hit was overtaken by Desiigner’s Panda, which has pounced up the charts since its inclusion on Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo in February. (USA Today)

Recently, the New York native dished on putting together the “Panda” hit.
Desiigner was wrecking things in Grand Theft Auto V when he thought of the motif. “When I was making it I was thinking about The Fast and The Furious and about breaking cars and going crazy,” he says. “It’s a whole bunch of action. When I make songs I think about movies, like my own movies in my head.” Now he’s working frequently at Kanye’s studio. “I see him a lot right now, he’s my man and we doin’ a whole lot of things right now,” he says of West. “Kanye, that’s my man.” (Billboard)
