Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West is reportedly going into a China State of Mind to put together work for his long-awaited follow-up to 2013’s Yeezus album.

According to reports, Kanye is overseas clocking in some serious studio time.

In just one sentence, Kanye West set the hip hop world on fire … because it sounds like the rapper just told our photog he’s recording a new album that’s a sequel to Yeezus — but some of our users think it’s only shoe talk. West was at LAX for an international flight when we asked what he’d be doing out of the country — the rapper said, “I’m going to China to work on Yeezus.” (TMZ)

G.O.O.D. Music’s Malik Yusef recently said the mystery LP was taking shape.

Yusef would not divulge any titles (“Your favorite title may not even make it on the album”), but says that West has “20 finished songs.” The musician claims that recording with West this time around has been smoother than Yeezus. “We fought over Yeezus every day,” he says, laughing. “There was no friendly disagreements. It was definitely a war. It’s ‘I don’t give a f*ck, Malik. It’s a Kanye album, not a Malik Yusef album.’ Kanye’s kicked me off the label eight times.” (Rolling Stone)

The rap superstar suffered a leak of his “All Day” track last summer.

A rough version of Kanye West’s new single, “All Day,” has leaked. The unofficial version sounds to have been recorded by phone. Earlier this year, West hinted at when fans could possibly start preparing to hear his newest tunes.

“I don’t know, man. I hope I can get one of these songs out in the next couple of weeks, just to have something up and running. But I think most likely September. I go back and forth. Like, should it be September or should it be October? Should it be November? When Beyoncé was working on her last album, she took a while. I was thinking it could somehow come out in June, like Yeezus, and just kill it for the summer. But then I’m like, I have to work on Adidas and be with my child.” (GQ)
